and probably some stuff you didn't!!!
It's pretty hard to give you a one-line or even a one-page summary of who I am. I tried, really I did.
And this is the result:
On the homepage, my one-line "Welcome" says I am a:
- Christ-loving
- adoption-and-orphan-advocating
- Children's Ministry-coordinating
- husband-loving
- work-at-home Mom to Kelsey, Emily and Katie Mei.
That, of course, is the short version.
And I'm not particularly known to be short on words.
So we'll move on to the long version . . .
Christ-loving:
I love Jesus because He first loved me. I was just 12 years old when God graciously rescued me from the domain of darkness and transferred me into the kingdom of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13). He took a young girl full of self and sin and gave me a new heart that longs to know Him and love Him still more and more!
Adoption-and-orphan-advocating:
I've always known that I wanted my family to be created both biologically and through adoption. My husband married me knowing that I carried that desire deep in my heart. Our hearts have been continually broken by the plight of the orphan and after 14 years of marriage and 2 biological children, God granted my desire and our family began the miraculous adoption process of bringing Katie Mei home from China. To say that adoption has forever changed our family and our lives would be an understatement. As a daughter, Katie has brought such joy to our family! Adoption has opened our eyes to the millions of orphans world wide and God's calling on us to serve them. It's our privilege to share this burden and calling with others.
Children's Ministry-coordinating:
I began serving our church as the Children's Ministry Coordinator just over a year ago and love organizing and implementing ideas that will bring our children into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! I love surfing blogs and websites that relate to Children's Ministries and listening to sermons that spur us on to serve our littlest ones with the love of Christ.
Husband-loving:
It's not often that a 39 year old is about to celebrate her 20th Anniversary! That's right . . . if you do the math, I got married to the love of my life at the tender age of 19 . . . yikes! Ron and I were young and in love, and though there have been tough years in the midst of many, many great years, I'd marry this man again and again and again. I'm thankful for his patience, his laughter, his friendship and his love.
Work-at-home-Mom to Kelsey, Emily & Katie Mei:
The Lord has graciously supplied for our families financial needs through amazing work-at-home opportunities. I babysit the world's cutest 2 year old in our home twice a week while also working a purchasing/data entry job about 20 hours a week. It's not always easy working from home and meeting the needs of my family, but we are so grateful to God for His good provision towards us! Our three daughters are a joy and delight . . . . I'm so thankful to be their mom!
So that's it . . . that's me, that's my family.
I'd say we are fun, faith-filled, joyful and maybe even a little crazy!

That's me . . . a Christ-loving, adoption and orphan advocating, Children's Ministry coordinating, husband loving, working-from-home Mom to Kelsey, Emily & Katie Mei.
The Gilson Family is adopting an 11 year old daughter from China. Purchase a bracelet for $5 and support their adoption both financially and with prayer!
